NYE in Goa!

The best thing about a society that isn’t great on law enforcement isn’t that I can ride around on Scooty (Simone’s scooter) but more that there are fireworks, which in my opinion are the fundemental ingredient to a good NYE.

Fireworks here are completely legal, although packaging that indicates endorsement by Delta Goodrem, Avril Lavinge and Hilley Diff, probably not so much. For NYE we let some off on the beach in Goa, which was a ton of fun, unfortunatly my camera was flat so I couldn’t take any photos. There was one box that contained 250 fireworks, you lit one fuse and it connected to all the fireworks in the box, exploding them one after another.

After the beach gathering, I was completely exhausted, but I headed out to a party organised by Lyell anyway. There was plenty of dancing (un-cordinated Chris style dancing) and lots of fun, I ended up leaving around 5, and getting home at 6:00, just in time for the prayers from the local mosque which permeate the local neighbourhood.

The music is Goa is wierd as …. its a mix of Mix FM style 80s/90s rock, Country and Western and local music. The Hokey Pokey and the ‘Bridie Dance’ aka the ‘Chicken Dance’ are also popular. I am compiling a list of the songs that I’ve heard a couple of time and make my laugh and I’m going to put them together. There has been rumours of a photo night when we get back, so hopefully I will have a great selection of music for such an event ;)
